For hundreds of kilometers between Slave Lake and Fort Vermilion, Highway 88 cuts through boreal forest with very few places to pull over and restock. KAN's General Store is that place. Whether you're a trucker hauling north, an oilfield worker heading to site, or a family on a northern road trip — we're here to make sure you have everything you need before the long stretch ahead. A Small Store for a Big Stretch of Highway
Red Earth Creek is home to about 315 people, and KAN's General Store is where most of them shop. But we serve more than just locals — every day, truckers, oilfield crews, and highway travelers pull in looking for supplies, a clean restroom, and a friendly word before the next leg of their drive. Located right on the Bicentennial Highway, we keep our shelves stocked and our doors open seven days a week, because out here, there's no backup option.
